Review: The Sound of Music is a musical impressive that stands above other films in the genre because of interesting characters, top-notch direction and a script truly inspired. Julie Andrews stars (Oscar nominee) as the young nun who leaves the convent to become a governess to a large family. And 'now in conflict with the children's father (Christopher Plummer), but soon fall in love and get married. But the forces of evil head in wonder as the Nazis invade their homeland Austria. All this based on a true story, The Sound of Music is one of those rare musical that works because there is a sense of fear and drama in the movie Final Act. This makes the film credible and none of the musical numbers take away from the story or the direction of the film. 5 out of 5 stars
